Healthy Strawberry & Cherry Chia Jam

Updated: Aug 10, 2019

This delicious jam is perfect for all kinds of uses. Having no refined or artificial sweeteners, it is a healthy version of store-bought jam, tasting almost exactly alike, except without that sickening sweetness. The sweet flavor is provided by the mere fructose of the cherries and strawberries. However, if you'd rather have a sweeter jam, opt for a tablespoon of maple syrup instead of sugar. Either way, you won't be able to tell that it's sugar-free! I love the combination of the lemon juice to bring out the flavor, as well as to give the jam a heavenly bittersweet taste. If you have ever made chia pudding, you know how these magical seeds gelatinize, which is all you need to bring out that jammy consistency, while also providing you with a ton of nutrients.

I first made this jam as a topping for my Healthy Vegan Cheesecake Recipe, but I made too much and have been giving it other uses since.

It super quick and easy to make and the result is incredibly delicious, I swear you will never reach out for that sugar-filled jar in the supermarket.

I used fresh cherries and pitted them myself, but frozen work too.

This recipe is super flexible. You can spread this delicious jam on a toast, use it as a filling for crêpes, as a topping for cheesecake (see my vegan cheesecake recipe), or anything you'd like!

Use this jam as a topping for a delicious healthy, vegan cheesecake

Or serve it in morning bowl of PB&J oatmeal. (Just mix in 4 tablespoons of oats, water or vegetable milk, 1 teaspoon of natural peanut butter, and a teaspoon of this delicious jam)
